Bill Burrows
Bill Burrows is a designer, artist and teacher.
Bill’s work has covered Print, Packaging, Identity, TV and video production, Publishing, Website Design and Multimedia, produced for clients, who range from Federal & State Government to Private Enterprise in many business sectors including Resources, Finance, Real Estate, Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Sport & Recreation, Building Development and Tourism.
He was Vice President of the Melbourne Art Directors Club (MADC) during 1991-1992 and was a Mentor to students through the clubs Mentor Scheme.
In 2001 he founded Burrows Interactive Agency an independent Melbourne based Digital Creative Agency which specialises in Concept and Design development for Multimedia and Online Applications. Bill has experience in a wide range of Media including directing TV commercials, developing Multimedia applications and web based design and project management.
He is currently on the RMIT School of Media and Communication Industry Advisory Committee.
He is a lecturer at RMIT School of Media and Communication – Photo imaging in Design for Web Environments and Applied Techniques and Research for Graphic Design courses.
Recently he has worked with Tony Wheeler founder of Lonely Planet and International Travel Photographer Richard I’Anson to produce the books Rice Trails, Nepal, and ‘India’ – lush coffee table editions published by Lonely Planet.
In 2009 he designed and art directed ‘George Baldessin -Paradox and Persuasion’ for Australian Galleries – This magnificent monograph explores the relationships between figuration and abstraction, sexuality and surrealism that prevail throughout Baldessin’s oeuvre. This major publication on Baldessin’s art has been published to complement an exhibition of his work at TarraWarra Museum of Art. Written by Professor Harriet Edquist and edited by Maudie Palmer.
He recent work includes a mix of small to medium and large scale web and online projects for a variety of clients. Bill’s client list has included Victorian Government, Office of Premier and Cabinet Victoria, BHP Billiton, Iluka Resources, Paperlinx, Department of Treasury and Finance and the Australian Defence Forces to name just a few.
His work has been the recipient of many awards including:-
MADC Presidents Award for ‘Most Outstanding Entry MADC Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards , The AMI Award for Marketing Excellence and the US Film and Video Awards 1997 – Multimedia Award.
